Your sister's the pretty one draws on personal experiences of childhood and family life. Individuals and collaborators have contributed their personal 'slogans' - things that have been said to them in the past, words that have been said in jest or as a negative put down.

Tracey has presented the slogans in various ways, through installation and print , as well as working closely with individuals on their slogans to create series of images which revisit those memories, sometimes reflecting, sometimes re-appropriating.

Language is a weapon by which children and adults are judged. The values and opinions of those in 'power' forced upon us, we choose (if we can) whether to conform or rebel. While it is easy to is easy to recognise the negativity of these words, we claim them, turn them round and throw them back out to the world. Yes we are different, and we plan to stay that way.
